Cheshire County Council

As with many organizations Cheshire CC has an increasing number of “mobile” users who need to access central applications from remote locations. Also, in line with Government directives there is a growing need for external users (eg Social Services) to gain access to county council records.

To ensure these requirements were met in a secure manner Cheshire CC investigated the use of Second Level Authentication. Several systems were evaluated and the council decided to select the ActivCard system proposed by POINT systems.

The advantages of ActivCard were identified as:

  • Easy integration with existing internal systems
  • Ease of use
  • Lower life cycle costs

POINT systems were able to supply the ActivCard solution and the initial resource required to implement the system.

Throughout the project POINT systems have supplied information in a timely and efficient manner.

They have been a pleasure to work with.
