
Cheshire County Council
As with many organizations Cheshire CC has an increasing number of "mobile" users who need to access central applications from remote locations. Also, in line with Government directives there is a growing need for external users (eg Social Services) to gain access to county council records. To ensure these requirements were met in a secure manner Cheshire CC investigated the use of Second Level Authentication. Several systems were evaluated and the council decided to select the ActivCard system proposed by POINT systems. The advantages of ActivCard were identified as:
